One of the many corporate transactions handled by Leonard Curtis Legal, part of Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group, has been shortlisted in the Mid-Market Deal of the Year category in the Insider South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2022.
The team has been recognised for its legal advisory role on the sale of Build Lite (UK) Ltd and Architectural Decorative Facades Ltd to an employee ownership trust (EOT) by the companies shareholders.
Head of Corporate and Commercial at Leonard Curtis Legal, Jennifer Moore, was delighted with the nomination and said: It is fantastic that this deal has been nominated in what is always a competitive category.
She continued: Our team of experts worked hard to complete the transaction within tight timescales in the wake of challenges resulting from the pandemic. Employee ownership trust structures are increasing in popularity as companies look for inspirational, long-term ways of securing the services of good people around successful businesses.
We look forward to facilitating more deals in the future working with trusted partners to deliver a multi-skilled solution, added Moore.
There are three nominations in the category. The team at Mackenzie Spencer (now part of Hentons) also worked on the transaction.
The Insider South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards recognises excellence in business funding, sales and acquisitions. The awards dinner on 9 June 2022 in Sheffield will recognise the hard work of funders, bankers, lawyers and advisers who have been at the very top of their game this year.
